GOSPEL: Beauty Ekpobari – Chineke Nememma

Port Harcourt bred, but internationally known singer, Beauty Ekpobari has a soulful, powerful yet prophetic voice, which captures and expresses the heart of God, in our opinion. Her cross-cultural style of Christian music enables her to touch many people and age groups. Beauty Ekpobari, an Ogoni from Rivers State, who is resident in dubai, definitely desires to create music that crosses denominational lines and unites the body of Christ; that bridges generational gaps and impacts generations to come with the sound and relatable song.

We’ve said before that gospel artists are modern day manifestations of the early twentieth century street evangelists who took the Word out of the church and into the highways, byways, and street corners.

The track title  “Chineke Nememma” which is in igbo, translates to “God that does good“, leaves the most lingering impression. This song is obviously meant to cross barriers and break walls of partition, thus placing it among the top gospel songs sung in churches and beyond.

Nevertheless, there’s much to be said about how Beauty Ekpobari writes and performs sacred songs with such deep emotion and how she makes old sounds new again. Her songs are a balm for a broken world. They also remind us that, in the words of architect Ludwig Mies van der Rohe, less is more.

As for Beauty Ekpobari, her ceaseless commitment to integrity includes bringing you reliable gospel music content that uplifts and advances the art form. From all indications, she is presently working on several projects about gospel music in the media as well as gospel music in social movements.

Enjoy beautiful music from Port Harcourt!
