Juli A is a Nigerian rapper and songwriter currently attached to Red Buffalo Music, an outfit on an inevitable rise where he would be dropping bombs to the feel of many this year. The song “Slow“, is like a shot in the arm, a jolt of uplifting energy. It’s funky and afro pop, boasts a great chorus, and maybe most importantly, is packed with personality.
It goes without saying that the production on the track, handled by Charles Penn and Caution LXE on the mixing console, is impeccable,and what it does best is prove that Juli A is far more of an all-around artist than initially thought.
It’s not been out for long, but it already feels safe to say this might be one of this year’s coolest jamz. It’s ambitious, gorgeous, and a distillation of everything we’ve come to expect from what we term “Good Music”..
