As the headline implies, this single off Omawumi’s ‘Lasso of Truth’ album is definitely not your ordinary afrobeat single. This song has a very smooth and calm feel to it. The beat also has something European that I like and Omawumi’s delivery on it generally is fantastic. In my opinion versatility (as shown in this case) definitely plays a part in the longevity of an artistes career. Omawumi has definitely produced one of the better albums I’ve listened to this year from Nigeria. If you want something that diverges from the regular commercial stuff it’s definitely worth acquiring.
