Redbuffaloent | BigGz deliver the first official single from Port Harcourt rapper “FJ” titled “Ojoro” which features Nigerian heavyweight dance-hall art “Timaya“.
FJ recently featured on his teammate Juli A’s “D south G remix” where he delivered a magnificent flow.
His new song “Ojoro” is a return to the factual lyricism and light production that FJ is so good with, and it’s a sharp and necessary contrast to all the realities, melodic rap so prevalent in popular music today. It’s a bit groovy, thanks to FJ’s sharp drum programming and rhythmic delivery, but it’s also bittersweet and wistful, a reflection on the unshakeable weight of our past and how it lingers with us, most glaringly as we pursue new phases and look to the future as Ojoro highlights the current situation of the country and gives voice for the people ahead of the 2019 elections.
FJ and Timaya are at the height of their harmonizing powers on the smooth track, and the result is a straightforward, feel-good single that offers some encouragement while also previewing what’s to come.
